Because I had no idea.
Doing the Blood Elf Newbie Quests in 2015 Like…
Featuring my baby mage Quileus.
Poor Lor’themar; I think he’s a bit behind the times. Halduron isn’t a jerk, really… he just thinks it’s all pretty hilarious!
And yes, it is a Frozen quote.
Anyways, Happy Fourth of July Weekend to those of you in America, and Happy Regular Weekend to those of you elsewhere!
Super Serious Search Studies #1: Kael’thas Withdrawal
So today someone got to my blog by searching for “Kael’thas Withdrawal”. Do not fear, my friend– I, too, occasionally suffer from Kael’thas withdrawal. But do not worry! I am here, to help you sate your desire for images of Azeroth’s most beautiful, gorgeous, and stylish elf.
Starting with some Stormpunk Kael.
And moving on to Kael’thas being a sexy beast in this loading screen:
(Disregard Illidan, we all know that Kael is the real center of attention here.)
He got ripped in three weeks thanks to Heroes of the Storm!
And now we move on to Pike, aka yours truly, sitting on his head.
Kael and I go back a ways, you see.
Next up it’s time for some amazing work from Jian Guo (aka breathing2004). If you haven’t yet, take a peruse through their stuff on the official WoW site. I’ll wait.
Anyways, our beloved Sun King drank a bit too much fel energy…
Bringing the blood elves to a cursed state. But do not fret; we shall rise from the ashes as we always do…
How ya’ll doing on the Kael’thas Withdrawal? Have you gotten your fix yet? Not quite?
Stormpunk Kael is Best Kael.
Alrighty, will that do it for now? I think that’ll do it for now. Dear friends and readers, let me know if you ever suffer from Kael’thas Withdrawal in the future, and I shall come to the rescue.
…and as for a serious answer to your query, Kael’thas went to Outland to try to find a cure for the blood elves’ magic withdrawals (caused by the destruction of the Sunwell). If you want more information, or if you want me to NERD OUT about blood elf lore in general, you know what to do! *points to comment box*
Three Raids, One Expac
In a move reminiscent of that “No flying” announcement we got a while back, Blizzard decided to drop a bombshell via a fan interview again. Today’s bombshell? 6.2 is it! No more raids after this!
What are my thoughts on this? Well, I’m thinking about a couple of things. Firstly I’m thinking don’t be surprised if Blizz drops a sudden mini-raid like they did at the end of Wrath, because Blizzard.txt. Secondly, I’m thinking, um… Blizzard… you guys do know you haven’t announced a new expansion yet, right? Which I’m assuming means it’s not anywhere near alpha or beta yet, right? So uh… what is everyone going to do until the next expac?
I mean, for me personally, I think I have enough to keep me occupied for a little while. This is because I was unsubbed for a long time and I like poking around at old content and leveling alts, so I have a lot to catch up on. So I’m not terribly disappointed myself. Like, I think I’ll be fine.
But, seriously. Blizzard. Maybe throw us a bone here and announce the new expac so we at least know it’s coming? Eh?
It. Finally. HAPPENED.
I really wasn’t expecting it to. I was just going through the motions, really. Running Sunwell again because, hey, that’s just what I do.
But then…
Then…
Then it happened.
IT dropped.
And it is wonderful, and I can’t wait for Timewalking to come back so I can take it into a dungeon.
Oh Timewalking… I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You
I have this problem and the problem is that I can’t not like timewalking. I just have this big ol’ smile on my face while doing it. I did Arcatraz yesterday and the group sucked and there were a couple of wipes (yes, in 2015) and I didn’t even care; I didn’t even care one bit because it brought me back.
I love it. I love it so much. Best thing Blizzard has done in forever. And according to MMO-Champion they’re planning on adding even more old instances! I don’t care about Cataclysm dungeons but I DO care about the other TBC and Wrath dungeons. Yes, Blizzard. Yesssss. Give them to me. I want all of them.
These Are The Two Things I Don’t Like About 6.2 So Far
Overall I’m happy with the patch. I think it added just about the right amount of new stuff without going overboard or anything. There are two things that are less than perfect, however, and those are:
1. WHATEVER THE HECK BLIZZARD DID TO MY POOR SALVAGE YARD – Oh yay… more scrap to sell for 50 silver or whatever…
and
2. BOAT MISSIONS THAT TAKE TWO DAYS. – I get that Blizzard is trying to be “realistic” here but come on. Two days, really? Especially when I only have seven boats in my fleet? I love boats and I want more of them and I want them doing more missions. MORE MISSIONS.
So yeah. I like the rest of the patch, though. I’ve heard some people say that Tanaan feels grindy but it really doesn’t, to me? It feels like just the right amount of daily quests and things to do. And of course I am IN LOVE with Timewalking.
But those damn two-day boat missions and my poor, poor salvage yard. 🙁
So for real, what’s up with those garrison missions that give you honor?
It all started with an innocent question I asked on Twitter, about those garrison missions that give you honor. You know, the ones like this: http://www.wowhead.com/mission=338/domination-of-nagrand
Everyone gets these, right? Except past 6.2, which was what my question involved. To my surprise, though, many people promptly replied that they had never seen a garrison mission that gives you honor before. How unusual! I used to get these all the time.
There’s not a lot about this on Wowhead although one or two comments seemed to suggest that the frequency of appearance of these missions has to do with how often you PvP. And since there was a stretch of about a month there where I was desperately trying to win AV, well, maybe that’s why I started getting the honor missions.
In that case, guess I’d better start doing some battlegrounds again and see if my honor missions start popping up again.
My question to you is: Do you PvP often and do you get honor missions? Let me know! I want to solve this mystery.
Timewalking is Funtastically Cozy
I love it, I really do. It doesn’t really feel like old heroics but it does feel like old normals and you know what? I’m fine with that.
Also I died on the last boss of Slave Pens. Because the tank didn’t know he was supposed to turn him around so he didn’t spew poison anywhere.
I didn’t even mind, it was just… adorable 🙂
TIMEWALKING! Best thing Blizzard has added in forever. I approve.
Bad News: Beast Mastery is Broken. Good News: It’s Getting Fixed.
So as I mentioned in my last post, a bug went live with the patch meaning that Focus Fire quit working completely. Oops. Pretty bad for us Beast Masters, especially seeing as Focus Fire optimization is kind of a major chunk of our DPS.
The good news is that Blizzard is aware of this and a hotfix is in testing. Granted, I have no idea when that’s actually going to go live in the game… but… official word is nice, yes?
In the meantime you may want to respec if you have to do some serious raiding (Marksmanship seems to be looking good), or, if you’re stubborn like me, just stick with it.
In the meantime, TIMEWALKING IS LIVE GO GO GOGOGOGO
