And there was me thinking I was going to end up being the only BM Blogger left! -grin-
Well, I’m not much of a blogger, but I’m still a BM specced Hunter. 🙂
It’s nice to see that your playing what you enjoy!! Go get ’em!!!
/YEAAA!!!!!!!
Pike is back to our beloved BM
Dont wry …Blizzard has seen what they have done to the hunter nation and fix what they have done wrong to it …
The sudden explosion of Survival hunter is just to much
And now we see who is a true hunter and one “playing” as a hunter , so easy to switch
Dont get me wrong , i like the other specs , i even have a SV hunter , but i am workin him from the ground up
all the Hunters that change just didnt know how to Play a Beastmaster the right way . I understand you wants to do more damage , but the top of the charts are not the only thing in Warcraft , and it may seem like a hunter is easy to play , most of it is , but try to do the high stuff , Try to think that your pet is much of your character as your range weapon , then you will get what it is like

Good to see ya where ya wanna be.
I did something similar, but it caused much less hulabaloo than you or Mr. BRK.
Big Red Owl is where it’s at… well…
It’s one of the many places where it is at, whatever “it” is.
@ Zalenna: OK….small problem…..I used to be a BM hunter…..I LOVE playing a BM hunter….but we need mana replenishment……Just remember, there is more than one reason to change specs…..although, I do agree that most, but not all, who changed spec are just trying to grab the current best DPS rather than playing the spec. And if you wanna feel like you are going nuts, try keeping your pet alive as a survival hunter who is spec’d for replenishment……make you feel a little schizophrenic.
Gunsnbutter Excelsior/Uther
That is as it should be, Pike. 🙂
@Gunsnbutter – Well i have a Survival Hunter , had him for a few months now , and i know how hard it is to pet manage with the other trees , it is cause you have to link between you and the pet when you are BM
and it is hard to break when you switch specs from BM to another ……now if you were SV to begin with , you would be happy and upset cause SV is IN
I am Still BM and still top my Hunter brothers and sisters in my guild , and i am hope to those who are being bashed for still being BM
i dont care about the numbers ….i just find it shallow to change spec cause it is “IN” and does ” more damage ” than the others , it is shameless
dont get me wrong …i like my MM and SV hunter friends , just play it cause you like , not that is is the FAD now

YAY welcome back, oh i’m so happy!
Kohaku wonders:
what’s the green glow under the cloak?
Also, yay BM ^_^
Yay Big Red Pike!
Kohaku-That green glow would be Pike’s dual-wielding Broken Stalactites enchanted with agility enchants. (The red glow from +ap is so much cooler)
I have felt a great disturbance in the force. It’s as if millions of BM hunters cried out ‘Yay!’ and were silenced.
@Zalenna
You say you don’t care about the numbers. Well, those of us who live in a raiding environment, those of us whose job it is to bring as much damage as possible do care about the numbers, because we are a dps class, and a dps class’s job is to dps to the best of their ability. Sometimes, that means switching some talent points around to roll with the ebb and flow of game balance. You can play however you want, even if that means not caring about numbers, but that doesn’t mean you should say nasty things about those of us who are just trying to do our job for our raid and our guild.
@Sade
/agree… competition for raid spots with top-end progression guilds is tough. I have to spec and equip what will produce the highest dps. The raid group generally cares about the end result. If you can get there with an alternate spec, then go for it. But usually, there is one spec that will produce more dps than others. And some of us have to do that…. not because it’s a fad.
Was contemplating the change to SV, but I’m following the sage advice from Pike. Your pet comes first. lol.

This is a completely unfair thing to say to raiding hunters. I am a damn good hunter and was BM since I rolled my toon. I knew how to adapt and work Arcane shot into my rotation after the patch and guess what? In a 25 man raid with high-end geared people BM is not cutting it anymore (I dropped from placing in the top 1-3 DPS to 8-10th).
My duty to my raid group is to bring as much DPS as I can. I miss BM terribly but I cannot justify being carried along simply because I love BM more than SV. And the biases hunters have towards the other specs of their own class is ridiculous.
It’s insulting to be looked down on because I care about my raid. It’s insulting to be looked down upon because I can enjoy more than one spec. It’s insulting that you would think caring about your pet is mutually exclusive to being SV.
Why so much hatred for SV hunters????? Even before the patch there has always been hatred towards SV hunters…
Seriously, I feel like my SV hunter should be its own class so people can tell blizz to nerf me, or get rid of me. I have played SV since day one and have always been treated like I dont know how to play the hunter class when people see that I was spec’d SV.
I may not have been able to dish out quite as much dmg as BM before the patch, but I could hang up towards the top and bring some extra utility to a group or raid. So now SV hunters get a chance to really shine, and we are again being hated against by the rest of the hunter community for not being ‘true hunters’ since we dont have talent points spent to better our pet. Everyone who specs SV now is being labeled as some huntard who wants to top every chart and doesnt care about others.
Well I care about my pets, I work hard to keep them alive in pet unfriendly fights, I will still run into fights to save my pet even if it means my own death, I still hunt for that special pet and agonize for days over what I should name him. So even though I am SV, I love my pet!
I dont care if I top the charts, just as long as I am pulling my weight and helping the group/raid accomplish the goal for that night.
Even though I have been SV for most of my hunter lvls (I tried BM and MM for a couple lvls) and have worked extremly hard to stay near the same lvl of dps/dmg as BM hunters, I am still shunned as something less then a hunter…
I got so fed up with the stigma of being a SV hunter that I rolled a lock and lvl’d that up to raid because it was the closest thing to a hunter with pets.
So heres a big thank you fellow hunters for all your ‘support’…
I maintain that I love all hunters. Regardless of spec, and regardless of what they like doing in game. I have not lost any respect for any hunter who has respec’d to the max DPS spec, and I have not lost any respect for any hunter who is staying BM.
I appreciate all the comments and discussion going on here and I’m glad to see all the different opinions. I know it is a touchy subject but it makes me glad to see all this passion regarding the hunter class. Much <3 to all, and Disgruntled Hunter, you will always be welcome here ^_^
Welcome Back to the BM side of life!!
We’ve missed ya!
